SSI Mantra successfully performs 25 complex surgical procedures at Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute and Research Center

SSI Mantra – India’s own Surgical Robot successfully performs 25 complex surgical procedures at Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute and Research Center, New Delhi (RGCI). With this, India is one step closer to heralding affordability and accessibility to underserved patients in the international surgical technology space.
Surgeons of RGCI

The first SSI Mantra Surgical Robotic System was installed at RGCI in July 2022. Since its installation, SS Innovations has recognized and qualified some highly skilled surgeons of RGCI to use the SSI Mantra system for surgeries. Primarily focusing on GenitoUro-Oncology cases, Dr. Sudhir Rawal – Medical Director at RGCI, Dr. Amitabh Singh and a team of other surgeons selected patients with procedurally simple and complex clinical cases to solidify the effectiveness of the SSI Mantra.

Clinical Data

A team of dedicated clinical engineers meticulously gathered data on all the surgeries to understand the various advantages and dependencies of the robotic system for a successful clinical outcome. SS Innovations will use this data to build surgical programs for surgeons with Robotic or Non-Robotic experience to reduce re-learning or shorten the learning curve for their surgeries.

Scope for India

Although Robotic Surgery is not new to India, it is still one of the most underserving healthcare services for the vast population of 138 crore people in India. By introducing SSI Mantra to the Indian Healthcare Sector, SS Innovations believes that gold-standard healthcare can be affordable and accessible to every patient in India and the world without compromising quality clinical outcomes.
